We realize we are healing from trauma when we see people whose faces appear struck in trauma and we compassionately realize that's what we used to look like.

Just like our perspective can shift when we're flying in an airplane, feeling like we're the ones sitting still with the world spinning beneath us, Psychological trauma can disorient the mind and cause us to lose perspective of ourselves in it.
